Emmy Jarris

Emmy Jarris joined the R/V Atlantic Explorer in October 2020 and currently sails as the vessel’s Chief Mate. She is responsible for the safe navigation and operation of the vessel as well as the management of the Deck Department. Emmy leads the crew in regular trainings and drills to ensure proper readiness for emergencies at sea. In conjunction with the Captain, Emmy also serves as the medical officer onboard.

Originally from Seattle, Emmy grew up on the waters of the Salish Sea. Emmy graduated the California Maritime Academy and currently holds a 1600 Ton Masters license and 2nd Mate Unlimited license.
