In honor of World Ocean Day, ASU Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences invites you to join us for a weekend of exploration and celebration of our world's ocean and the life it holds.
Join us in commemorating over 120 years of ocean sciences, and look forward to our new opportunities with Arizona State University.

World Ocean Day Open House at ASU Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences
10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Free and open to the public
Throughout the day visitors are welcome to explore our ocean science exhibits and demos, tour our facilities and participate in engaging talks highlighting our programs. Our research staff will be on hand to share their work and answer your questions.
Experiences include (a detailed schedule of events is available here):
- Learn about our local education programs; ASU opportunities; and the School of Ocean Futures
- Meet a Scientist to learn about our ocean and local marine environment
- Virtual reality Drop in the Ocean world of plankton and coral experiences
- Tour a research lab and learn more about our time-series programs
- Tour the research vessel Atlantic Explorer *waiver required
- Board our small research vessel and learn how to collect samples on a plankton tow *waiver required
- Coral and plankton identification labs
- Learn more about coral ecology and resilience at our state-of-the-art Bermuda Marine Mesocosm Facility
