Bermuda Entry Requirements for Visitors
Bermuda Work Permits are required for any paid employment or paid internship at ASU BIOS. Where applicable, these will be applied for by ASU BIOS, not the intern/employee.
Work Permits are not required for short unpaid research visits, educational courses, or workshops and meetings.
Visitors traveling to Bermuda must meet the following entry requirements before departure.
Passport Requirements
All visitors must hold a passport that is valid for at least 45 days beyond the date of departure from Bermuda.
Return or Onward Travel
All visitors must have a confirmed return or onward ticket.
Citizens of the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom
Citizens of the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom may enter Bermuda for short visits, provided they meet Bermuda’s passport and travel requirements.
Permanent Residents of the U.S., Canada, or the U.K.
Nationals of other countries who hold permanent residency or unrestricted right of residence in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom must carry proof of that status when traveling to Bermuda.
Visitors from the European Union and Other Countries
Air travelers from the European Union and other countries transit through the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom to reach Bermuda.
Depending on nationality and travel route, travelers may require the following:
- A Multi Re-Entry Visa (MRV) for the USA, Canada or the UK
- An electronic travel authorization, such as:
- ESTA (United States)
- eTA (Canada)
- ETA (United Kingdom)

Multi Re-Entry Visa (MRV) Requirements
Visitors who require an MRV may enter Bermuda provided that:
- The MRV is valid for at least 45 days beyond the date of departure from Bermuda
- The passport is valid for at least 45 days beyond the date of departure from Bermuda
- The traveler presents the MRV upon arrival in Bermuda
- The traveler holds confirmed return or onward tickets

Visitors are responsible for ensuring they meet the entry and transit requirements of all countries on their itinerary.
As applicable, all visitors should ensure they have a valid electronic travel authorization for transit through all countries on their route, e.g. the U.S. (ESTA), Canada (eTA), the U.K. (ETA) or the European Union (ETIAS).
Visitors should confirm current visa, transit, and travel authorization requirements with the relevant embassy, consulate, airline, and/or immigration authority before departure.
