Dr. Rosemarie McMahon brings over 20 years of expertise in environmental leadership, climate science, sustainability, and strategic communication to her role as Director of Advancement at ASU BIOS. She oversees the Communication, Marketing, and Development Department at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (ASU BIOS), part of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory at Arizona State University. In this capacity, she leads efforts to build corporate and community partnerships, enhance donor engagement, and elevate ASU BIOS as a global leader in marine research and education.

Rosemarie earned her PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (ETH Zurich), where her interdisciplinary research focused on communicating climate model results, particularly for UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports. Her work at the Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science was conducted in collaboration with ETH’s Transdisciplinary Lab. She also holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Management from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment and an Honours B.Sc. in Earth Science from University College Cork, Ireland.

She has held senior roles at Credit Suisse, Swiss Re, and AXA XL, where she led sustainability initiatives, built partnerships with governments and corporations, and managed global strategic projects. Before joining ASU BIOS, Rosemarie served as the Consulting Director of the Youth Climate Summit in Bermuda and founded a science network connecting women from diverse STEM fields and organizations. Her expertise in climate science, sustainability, insurance, and communication plays a key role in advancing ASU BIOS's mission to address today’s most pressing environmental challenges.
