Emily earned her BS in marine science with a minor in statistics at California State University, Monterey Bay in 2021. Having been born and raised in California, she naturally developed a deep love for the ocean. Between volunteering with the university’s SCUBA diving program and hosting events with the marine science club, she worked in the Ecosystem Electronics Lab, using marine technology to study benthic invertebrates.
In 2022, Emily interned at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) where she enjoyed the balance of hands-on work with mentally stimulating challenges of research and putting electronics in a saltwater environment. Emily is thrilled to bring her expertise to the ASU BIOS team as a marine science technician aboard the R/V Atlantic Explorer.
