Ali Hochberg

Ali Hochberg works half-time in the BIOS Development Office where she is the science writer, webmaster, and social media manager, and she also works as a research technician for the BIOS-SCOPE project. Since September 2021 she has also worked part-time as an Outreach Specialist for the Bermuda Ocean Prosperity Programme (BOPP), assisting with on-the-ground communication and program management, as well as the development and implementation of the marine spatial plan.
She has an undergraduate degree from Eckerd College (St. Petersburg, FL) in environmental policy, with minors in biology and marine science, and a graduate certificate from the University of South Florida (Tampa, FL) in informal science education. Prior to joining BIOS she worked as the education and outreach coordinator for the University of South Florida College of Marine Science Ocean Monitoring and Prediction Lab, and the director of education and public programs at The Pier Aquarium, as well as an early career with the U.S. federal government (but don't hold that against her).
What she loves most is connecting people to help solve critical problems and helping to bridge the gap among various disciplines by using her background in science communication to find common ground.
Until September 30, 2023, Ali is on secondment to the Bermuda Ocean Prosperity Programme (BOPP). If you need to reach her please do so via ahochberg@bermudaoceanprosperity.org.
